Sexual Harassment Investigation
The Chairman of the Board of a middle-market communications company received a letter from a female employee who had recently been reprimanded for her performance, accusing a fellow worker of sexual harassment and the firm of sexual discrimination.
ICI investigators interviewed 20 employees/witnesses to the alleged misconduct, prepared a formal report for the Board of Directors, assisted the company in locating and retaining expert legal counsel, assisted the company in developing and implementing Human Relations policies needed to preclude similar incidents in the future. ICI also provided expert witness testimony in the court action, which was successfully concluded in the company’s favor.
Competitive Intelligence Gathering
A major Japanese trading company wanted to purchase a particular Brazilian company that was a known target of the Japanese company’s major U.S. competitor. They needed to identify the key players at the competitor company and to learn whether the competitor would consider a joint venture purchase of the target company in Brazil.
ICI successfully identified the two key contacts, one having just been reassigned from Hungary where he led the expansion into Eastern Europe. He was recalled to lead their future expansion into Asia and Latin America. Through extensive research and interviews with industry experts, we successfully demonstrated that the competitor company had made numerous joint venture acquisitions during its expansion in Europe and, later, into Eastern Europe. The client was able to structure an informed first approach to its competitor as a result of our findings
International Asset Search
An investor group lost more than $5 million with a high-profile asset manager who did not disclose that he was investing their dollars in high-risk derivatives. The plaintiffs’ attorney called upon ICI investigators to identify and locate the manager’s assets.
Employing a combination of investigatory methods and interviews with industry sources, ICI investigators found several investment fund companies in the Cayman Islands run by the subject. ICI’s Asset Search Team also located significant assets throughout the U.S., enabling investors to recoup a large percentage of their losses.
